BBP31 Firmware Upgrade V 112

This upgrade will update the firmware (operating system) of your BBP31 printer to version 112 . Upgrade to this firmware regardless of whether you use your BBP31 in stand-alone mode or connected to a PC with MarkWare Software.

Upgrade Instructions:


1.) Download the upgrade .ZIP file and save to your desktop.Extract the files to a new folder
2.) Put the "BootUpgrade" folder on to the usb flash drive.
3.) Insert the USB flash drive to any available USB port on the printer.
4.) On the BBP31 screen press "MENU"
5.) Select "More Tools"
6.) Select "Upgrade from USB drive"
7.) At the prompt to continue with the upgrade, select "Yes". The printer will go into upgrade mode (This may take a few minutes, do not power off or touch screen or keyboard while upgrading) and restart after the upgrade is complete.

What does the printer firmware upgrade do?

- Increased maximum font size in stand-alone operation to better fill the installed label width <\p>

- Improved on-screen instructions for media install errors 53 and error 55 (explains correct tape positioning for loading)

- Changes Pipe marker app to support 2007 standard as well as existing 1996 standard

- Allows 1-character bar codes

- Adds new templates for Pre-printed pre-cut tags.(see also markware comment below)

-Adds additional Symbols

- Allows 1 or 2 digits for Quicklabel application vs. mandatory 3

- Right and center text justifcation start at the leading edge vs the right or center in bounding area.

- Adds templates for raised panel labels (push button labels) which will be available Nov. 2011

- Corrects printing error from MarkWare when running out of label stock.

- Corrects ribbon welding error that can occur when printing reverse text labels and long labels with bold fonts.

- Corrects problem with labels and fonts failing to save upon power down.

For MarkWare Software Users wishing to print onto pre-cut pre-printed tags: This BBP31 printer firmware upgrade does not require a concurrent upgrade in MarkWare software. However, there is a free MarkWare Software Special Update (MarkWare 3.8.1 Special Update - ANSI-OSHA Tag Update) which adds tag templates that complement the functionality contained in this BBP31 printer firmware upgrade.

To download this special MarkWare tag update, you will need MarkWare 3.8.1 Standard Version Upgrade or MarkWare 3.8.1 LEAN Version Upgrade, OR HIGHER.
