Parts Database Update Instructions for BRADYSOFT™/CODESOFT™ 8.5 and CODESOFT™ 9


These instructions update your BRADYSOFT and CODESOFT parts to include three new THT parts.
Note: These instructions assume that you have already downloaded the
Brady.lfm file from www.bradyid.com.


Save Pre-Existing Parts
To save your pre-existing Brady IP Parts, please read these instructions.
1. On your PC, locate the existing Brady.LFM file by navigating to the appropriate location:
Note: The .LFM file contains the parts database files.
• BRADYSOFT 8.5 / CODESOFT 8.5:
File Path: C:\Program Files \TKI\8\Common\LFM

For operating systems:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 2003
- Windows 7 (32bit)


Note: For 64-Bit Operating Systems, the path is: C:\Program Files(x86)\TKI\8\Common\LFM.


• CODESOFT 9:
File Path:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and
settings\All Users\Application
Data\Teklynx\CODESOFT 9\LFM

- Windows Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Teklynx\CODESOFT
9\LFM

- Windows 2003: C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Teklynx\CODESOFT 9\LFM

- Windows 7: C:\Users\All
Users\Teklynx\CODESOFT 9\LFM

- Windows Server 2008:
C:\ProgramData\Teklynx\CODESOFT 9\LFM

2. Copy pre-existing parts:
a. On your PC, navigate to the Brady.LFM file and choose Open.
b. Choose Select the program from a list, then click OK. This message may vary depending on your operation system.
c. In the Open with dialog box, choose Notepad, then click OK.
d. Scroll down the list to [BRADY IP].
e. Highlight all of the information below the title (do not highlight [BRADY IP]).
f. Right-click and select Copy.
g. Close the Brady.lfm file.
3. Using Notepad, open the new Brady.lfm file you downloaded from bradyid.com.
4. Scroll down the list to [BRADY IP].
5. Place your cursor on the line directly below [BRADY IP], right-click the mouse and select Paste. The information you previously copied will be pasted into the file.

Note: These update instructions apply to BRADYSOFT™/CODESOFT™ 8.5 and CODESOFT™ 9 software.



1. On your PC, navigate to the folder located in Step 1 of "

3. Click Yes when prompted to replace the existing file.
4. Open BRADYSOFT or CODESOFT.
5. Select File>Page Setup.
6. Click the Stock tab. The parts updates should be available.
